Hot Induction Bends Manufacturer

What is Induction Bending?
Induction Bending is a precisely controlled as well as efficient piping flexing method. Warm Induction Bending Process is carried out by in your area heating up the pipe that can be bent without much effort. Neighborhood home heating utilizing high-frequency induced electric power is applied throughout the induction bending procedure. Pipelines, tubes, and also architectural shapes (channels, W & H sections) can be curved effectively in an induction bending device. Induction flexing is additionally known as hot flexing, incremental flexing, or high-frequency bending. For larger pipe sizes, when chilly flexing approaches are restricted, Induction flexing of pipeline is the most preferable alternative. Around the pipeline to be curved, an induction coil is positioned that heats the pipe circumference in the variety of 850-- 1100 degrees Celsius.

Induction bends are usually generated in basic bend angles (e.g. 45 °, 90 °, and so on). However, depending upon the need they can be custom-made to particular bend angles. Compound out-of-plane bends in a single joint of pipe can additionally be generated. The bend radius for induction flexing is specified as a function of the small pipe size (D) like 5D, 30D, 60D bends, etc.

Induction Bending (Hot Bending) Process
The adhering to steps are executed for the induction bending of the pipeline or pipe system:

The pre-inspected pipeline or pipeline to be curved is positioned in the maker bed as well as clamped hydraulically.
Around the pipe, induction heating coils and cooling coils are mounted. To make sure uniform home heating, the induction coil can be changed with a 3-plane motion.
By changing the radius arm and front clamp, the required bend radius can be dealt with. There is one guideline to show the correct degree of transforming.
Arc lengths are noted on the pipeline. The pipeline can be moved slowly whilst the bending pressure is applied by a dealt with radius arm plan.
As soon as everything is set as called for, hydraulic stress, water level, and also buttons are inspected and after that the induction bending procedure is started.
Upon getting to the needed temperature range, the pipe is pushed forward gradually at a speed of 10-40 mm/min, as well as the procedure is quit when the specified bend angle as well as pre-determined arc length are gotten to.
Simply beyond the induction coil, the warmed pipeline product is appeased utilizing a water spray outside surface of the pipeline.
In the following action, the induction bend is removed as well as sent for examination as well as measurement of tolerances.
The last step for the induction bends is using post-bend warmth therapies for stress and anxiety alleviating, stabilizing, etc.

Hot Induction Bends are extremely useful, especially in the construction of bridges, arches and other structural projects. We guarantee extremely accurate bending and mechanical properties - that's why our team meets the stringent ASME standards.
We test our bending procedures in the same rigorous manner as we test our fabrication and welding procedures. Properties in all areas of the bend need to be tested to ensure that members perform as expected. We test our bending process on a small section of the same tube that will be used to produce the bend. The section is bent to the same parameters that we will use to produce the bend. We prepare and test these parts by removing the parts from the four quadrants of the bend.
If we see satisfactory results, we use the same parameters for the bend.
If not, we adjust the bending parameters, make and test a new bend. We continue this process until acceptable performance is achieved!

Our bending process can partner with you to bring success to your project, big or small. We trust our guaranteed process and stringent standards, not to mention our years of success! Reach out to us with any questions today.

FAQ of Hot Induction Bend

What is Hot Induction Bend

Hot induction bending is a process of using an induction heater to preheat an induction bend to its austenitizing temperature and then rapidly cooling it to achieve its desired geometrical properties. It is widely used in the modern steel industry to produce high-quality bend components for industrial and automotive applications. Hot induction bending offers superior properties over conventional bending processes and can be used for a variety of applications, from pipelines and pressure vessels to encapsulated electrical components.Hot Induction Bends is a precisely controlled and efficient pipe bending technology. In the induction bending process high frequency induction electrical energy is used for local heating. Pipes, tubes and even structural shapes (channels, W & H profiles) can be bent efficiently in the induction bending machine. hot Induction Bends are also known as induction bends, incremental bends or high frequency bends. For larger pipe diameters, Hot Induction Bends are the most preferred option when cold bending methods are limited. The Hot Induction Bends process is carried out by locally heating the pipe, which can be bent without much effort. An induction coil is placed around the pipe to be bent, heating the circumference of the pipe to 850 - 1100 degrees Celsius. We are happy to quote you for Hot Induction Bends API5L Gr: B, X42, X46, X52, X60, X65 and European standard pipes. hot Induction Bends (above 750°C) protect the mechanical properties of the material and our factory also offers post-bending heat treatments such as normalisation and stress relief heat treatments. During final inspection, we perform dimensional and visual control of the weld seam, hydrotesting, and 100% non-destructive testing to provide minimum bending tolerances.

Properties

Hot induction bending provides excellent mechanical and chemical properties such as tensile strength, toughness, ductility, and corrosion resistance, depending on the grade of steel used. Hot induction bending is also capable of forming bends with smaller wall thickness and a tighter bend radius than conventional bending.

Benefits

Hot induction bending offers several benefits over traditional cold bending. For starters, hot induction bending decreases residual stresses in the bend and minimizes distortion. This improves ductility and decreases the chance of cracking. Additionally, the process eliminates hot cracking that can occur in cold bending. Due to its high yield point and improved properties, hot induction bending can form components with better fatigue life and stress properties. Better mechanical properties: the hot induction bending method ensures competent mechanical properties compared to cold bending and welding solutions. Reduced welding and NDT costs: Hot Induction Bends are a great way to reduce the number of welds and the non-destructive cost and risk of materials. Rapid fabrication: Hot Induction Bends are an efficient method of pipe bending as they are fast, precise and virtually error-free. Hot Induction Bends are less costly and faster to use than conventional components. Hot Induction Bends have a uniform hardness and thickness. Smooth flow due to large radii which reduce friction, wear and pumping energy. No pipe folds. Hot Induction Bends require only one straight pipe. Hot Induction Bends are available in precise bend radii and angles: Hot Induction Bends are usually produced with standard bend angles (e.g. 45°, 90°, etc.). However, on request they can be customised to specific bend angles. The bend radius of Hot Induction Bends is specified as a function of the nominal pipe diameter (D), e.g. 5D, 30D, 60D bend, etc. The Hot Induction Bends can also be produced as a composite out-of-plane bend in a single joint of the pipe.

Process

The hot induction bending process involves heating and cooling the part to its desired shape. This is accomplished by using an induction heater to heat the steel part to its austenitizing temperature for a specific amount of time and then quickly cooling it with water. During the cooling phase, the steel will quickly go into a martensite state, which creates new grain structures that result in improved mechanical and chemical properties. Induction heating and cooling coils are installed around the pipe. To ensure uniform heating, the induction coils can be adjusted by means of a 3-plane movement.
The required bending radius can be fixed by adjusting the radius arm and the front clamps. There is a pointer to show the correct degree of rotation.
The arc length is marked on the pipe. The pipe can be moved slowly while the bending force is applied by the fixed radius arm device.
Once everything is set up as required, check the hydraulics, water level and switches and start the induction bending operation.
Once the required temperature range has been reached, the pipe is slowly advanced at a rate of 10-40mm/min and the operation is stopped when the specified bending angle and predetermined arc length are reached.
Just outside the induction coil, the heated pipe material is quenched using a water jet on the outer surface of the pipe.
In the next step, the induction bend is removed and sent for inspection and tolerance measurement.
The final step in Hot Induction Bends is to use a post-bending heat treatment to relieve stress, normalise etc.

Advantage

Hot induction bending offers several advantages compared to traditional cold bending. The process yields superior properties with improved strength and superior fatigue life. Additionally, hot induction bending has a much shorter cycle time and higher throughput. This allows components to be processed more quickly, resulting in better efficiency.

Application

Hot induction bending is used to form a variety of components for multiple industries. This process is commonly used in the aerospace and automotive industries, among others. Hot induction bending is ideal for creating pipes, bends, elbows, and fittings. It is also used to form a variety of tubular and rolled components, such as ring segments and helical coils.

Material

Induction bending is a very efficient means of pipe bending, as it is quickly, precise, and with couple of mistakes.
